How would everyone feel about permadeath guilds?
There has been some ongoing discussions about the possibility of permadeath guilds in GW 2. What do you guys think of this? Do you think it would make the Guild Wars experience more exciting and positive or would it inhibit your ability to enjoy the game?
Second question that I am curious about: would you take away dying altogether from the game? |

They had this feature in d2 and when you instanced into town/area people could join that map later. Nothing like the sound of hostile mode when your out killing stuff and someone is coming to try to kill your toon for good. Edit: When players turn hostile, they have to do it in town and it made this sounds to warn everyone on the map that a Pk(s) was coming. Last edited by Showtime; Dec 04, 2011 at 02:52 PM // 14:52.. |

Stupid and unrelated to GW1. Keep it in GW2guru. There's no reason for devs to waste their time developing something like this for a multiplayer game like GW, even if they are developing it into a more solo style. Modes and mentality of 'true rpg' belong in single player games.

I'd have to say that there would need to be Permadeath "Realms" not just Guilds. The dynamics of the game would have to be modified too much to have perma and non-perma in the same "realm". (Iirc, GW2 will have "realms" - some PvE-only.)
Personally, I'm there to have fun and enjoy myself. If I want to worry about death, I can do that in r/l. |

So You mean like Hardcore mode in diablo 2....? 1 death thats it.
Its not my cup of tea ( too much wasted effort for a death ). I agree it gave diablo 2 a nice dynamic for somepeople. But it worked there because it was set up with a ladder that would reset and restart the "challenge". ( most players started new chars every ladder ) As for no death at all...... neh its either that or something as good as death.... |
